Get together and play

Throw a virtual game night for all your friends!

Houseparty is an instant video messenger that lets users video chat with up to eight people, together. To keep things fun and exciting, users can connect with their friends to play games like Trivia, Pictionary, and Heads Up!

The app’s simplicity is its biggest selling point. Instead of video-calling a person, you only need to open the app and connect with anyone in your phonebook. The only catch is that they must have an account on Houseparty!

From the moment you open the app, you have an option to either drop in on an ongoing video call or start a group video chat! Since your friends also sync their contacts, you also get an option to connect with friends of friends using the Houseparty app.

Simple and familiar interface

Houseparty for Mac has a simple interface that may seem familiar to people that have used AOL. Once you open the app, you get to see the number of friends using the app in real-time or running it in the background.

You can ‘wave’ to them to grab their attention or tap on the phone icon to start a video chat. Houseparty also gives you an option to add your friends to a chat or share a unique code with them. Apart from your contact list, you can even add friends via Facebook and Snapchat.

Option to hide notifications

The moment you open the Houseparty app, it sends an instant notification to all your friends informing them that you’re ready to connect! In case you don’t wish to broadcast your appearance, you can easily opt-out of sending or receiving notifications.

Apart from these notifications, the app informs users when someone from outside their contact list joins in on a video conference. At that moment, users have an option to either leave or continue the video call.

Offers one-on-one disappearing chat

For users looking for a little privacy, there’s an option to ‘lock’ a chat room so that no one else jumps into the ongoing call! The app also gives you an option to send pictures and text messages from a side window. These messages disappear within 24 hours!

Where can you run this program?

Mac Os Versions

After you’ve downloaded the Houseparty app for your macOS, you only need to sign up to start using it. You can give access to your contact list or integrate friends from your Facebook or Snapchat account. As soon as you’re up and running, you can connect with almost all your friends using the app.

Is there a better alternative?

Multiple apps like WhatsApp, Hangouts, Skype, and Zoom offer video calling. However, there’s no alternative to Houseparty! The latter turns video calling into a breeze and provides multiple users an option to interact and play games from one single window.

Our take

There’s nothing formal about the Houseparty app, which makes it perfect for video calling friends. It’s the new social networking platform that everyone is raving about! Therefore, if you aren’t already using Houseparty, you’re probably missing out.

Should you download it?

How to install Windows 10 on Mac

To install Windows, use Boot Camp Assistant, which is included with your Mac.

1. Check your Secure Boot setting

Learn how to check your Secure Boot setting. The default Secure Boot setting is Full Security. If you changed it to No Security, change it back to Full Security before installing Windows. After installing Windows, you can use any Secure Boot setting without affecting your ability to start up from Windows.

2. Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition

Open Boot Camp Assistant, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. Follow the onscreen instructions.

  • If you're asked to insert a USB drive, plug your USB flash drive into your Mac. Boot Camp Assistant will use it to create a bootable USB drive for Windows installation.
  • When Boot Camp Assistant asks you to set the size of the Windows partition, remember the minimum storage-space requirements in the previous section. Set a partition size that meets your needs, because you can't change its size later.

3. Format the Windows (BOOTCAMP) partition
