Hello everyone,
My son has got a Mac Pro 3.1, and is wanting to do a graphics card upgrade.
Testing conducted by Apple in October 2020 using JetStream 2, MotionMark 1.1, and Speedometer 2.0 performance benchmarks. Tested on production 1.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Pro systems with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and prerelease macOS Big Sur, and Windows 10 Home, version 2004, running in Boot Camp.
He has the nvidia GTX 780 (Jetstream) (http://www.hardwareversand.de/nl/6144+MB/166003/Palit+GeForce+GTX+780+Jetstream+ 6GB+mit+GeForce+Experience.article) on his mind, due to the fact he will be using the Mac for video editing, rendering etc, and will also be using heavy graphic games on 'ultra' settings in Windows through Bootcamp.
Now our question is: Will this be possible on a Mac Pro 3.1 (Early 2008)? We have read through many forum's and can not get a clear answer from any.
